April 16, 2014 - Piedmont Council Eagle Banquet
Congratulations to Sam Putnam and Josh Stevens who completed their tenure in Scouting by attending the Piedmont Council Eagle Banquet held at Catawaba Valley Community College on Wednesday, April 16, 2014. Sam & Josh ate dinner with their sponsor who was a professional in Sam & Josh's career choice. Each scout was introduced to the audience and walked on to the stage with their sponsor who put a 2014 Piedmont Council Eagle neckerchief on them as their families watched on. This event completes their scouting career as both have aged out of scouting. The Eagle Banquet photo shows the largest group of Eagle Scouts in the history of the Piedmont Council.

November 16 & 23, 2013 - Scouting for Food
Our annual community service project was HUGELY successful despite the tough economic times. On Satruday November 16, scouts went out into their neighborhoods to hang door knockers which informed the public about the food drive. On Saturday, November 23 the scouts went back into the neighborhoods and collected three pickup trucks of food which weighed in at 3737 pounds that was donated to the Masters House a home for men who are working through difficult times in their lives. Over the course of our 8 year relationship with the David Pearcy and the Masters House we have collected and donated over 26,134 lbs.of food!

October 6, 2013 - NYLT
Congratulations to Mikey Beaver, Michael Hess, Caleb Lail, Stephen Snyder and Coleman Walker for the successful completion of 2013 NYLT training. These scouts participated in the traditional and backpacking NYLT courses that required 3 weekends of leadership training at Camp Bud Schiele.

Also to be congratulated are NYLT staff members David Pennington and Parker Hart. David was the NYLT traditional course troop guide and Parker was the traditional course Chaplains Aide. NYLT staff put in a tremendous amount of time developing their presentations begining as early as February and attending up to 6 weekends of staff development outings before the 3 weekends of the NYLT course. Staff members are to be commended for the time, dedication and effort they put in the this years NYLT course.
